Meet the Mastermind
The octopus being all this nonsense

Kathrine Snow
Editor and Founder
Snow is an editor, a story weaver, and the leader of Scissors for Ink. She’s written millions of words about the fay, deep space, living toys, and Super Mario—and she’s helped authors refine millions more.
She’ll never turn down hot cocoa (especially with a little coffee in it) and devours good stories—especially anything by C.S. Lewis. She also dabbles in illustration and animation when she finds the time. (Guest star: Zuko the cat.)

Editor Training Program
Every once and a while, Scissors for Ink will host a training program for budding editors—showing them the ropes and helping them get established in the field. Some stay on as long-term partners, special-trained in Scissors for Ink’s old-school, in-depth style of editing. Others go on to edit on their own!

Malia Spoto
Line Editor in Training!
Since she was little, Malia created new worlds with her sister—and so learned the joy of storytelling. One thousand and one Minnesotan nights later, she began writing those stories down. Now, as a fantasy adventure author and an editor, Malia helps others experience the same joy of seeing their stories come to life.
When not lost in a book, you can find Malia playing Final Fantasy with her husband or trying to perfect her doctored-up ramen recipe.

Lydia Ledy
Copy Editor in Training!
Lydia has read her way through multiple local libraries and has no intention of slowing down. Words aren’t her passion—they are her natural habitat, and she adores helping fellow authors give their stories a heartbeat.
In addition to launching into two-hour lectures about the Black Plague, Lydia has a special talent for dystopian and cozy thrillers—action packed and fast-paced, but not so intense that they’ll keep you up at night.
Her constant companion as she edits? A much-loved oat milk latte and a rotating “to be read” pile she’ll never conquer (and doesn’t intend to).
Michelle Seward
Copy Editor in Training!
A teacher-turned-homeschooling mom, Michelle enjoys critiquing school papers and stories alike! She loves to collaborate with authors who are passionate about the stories they create. Michelle has a special talent for editing TTRPG adventures and the novels that grow out of them and has a budding skill for middle grade adventures.
When she is not spotting errors, you can find Michelle chatting about books at her local Library or in her family’s barn reading to her children and their animals.

Praise for what we do
See what our audience says about our work!

Scissors for Ink helped me file my story into what I wanted it to be all along. It can be hard to let go of old ideas, but they helped me learn to look at my characters and plot to figure out the why and the how so my story could grow how I wanted it to.

Scissors for Ink goes above and beyond to help you think like a writer.
They gave me methods for analyzing published writing (as well as my own). These tools have made me more organized and strategic so I can apply what I learn to my work. I cannot overstate everything this company has done to take my work from amateur to professional. If you are looking to elevate your writing, Scissors for Ink is THE resource to try.
